Paolo Buchberger BA. LLB (Syd.Uni).

Paolo is Director of the Constitutional & Administrative Law practice group at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office.

With more than 20 years’ experience in constitutional and native title law, Paolo advises NSW Government clients on complex constitutional matters, prepares intergovernmental agreements, and conducts constitutional litigation for the State. Paolo has appeared for the Attorney General in constitutional matters in courts throughout the State. Cases in the High Court in which Paolo has had carriage include, Cheatle v the Queen, Lange v the ABC, Yorta Yorta v Victoria, New South Wales v Commonwealth (WorkChoices), Crump v NSW , APLA v Legal services Commissioner, Williams v Commonwealth , Kuczborski v Queensland, Clubb v Edwards and  Knight v Victoria . Paolo assisted in the development of the legislation the validity of which was upheld in Betfair v Racing New South Wales & Ors

Paolo is Secretary to the Special Committee of Solicitors-General.
