Australian Bills of Rights: The ACT and Beyond
The ACT Human Rights Research Project, at the Regulatory Institutions Network at the ANU and the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law at UNSW held a one day event in Canberra assessing recent developments in Australian Bills of Rights. The conference surveyed the impact of the ACT Human Rights Act over the last year in the courts, legislature and the bureaucracy. It also looked at the proposed Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities in Victoria, and at developments in other states and at the national level, and the comparative perspective from New Zealand. The day was aimed at both a legal and non-legal audience.
